Infinitives are verbals, which are verbs functioning in a different way. Infinitives function as nouns, adjectives, and adverbs. Next, we will look at the adverb function. If a word is functioning as an adverb, it must modify a verb, adjective, another adverb, or a phrase in some way. Adverbs often add information about time, manner or place. Some adverbs are even formed from adjectives. You should keep this in mind as you go through both the practice and test sentences. Please copy the following sentences down in your grammar notebook.
